They are limited liability companies through which buyers and sellers come to the setting of the Mercantile Exchange to trade agricultural, agribusiness or other commodity goods, products and services, certificates, securities, derivatives, rights and contracts originating from or underlying such goods, through a commission contract.
To perform their activity, the Brokerage Companies have market specialists certified by the Self-Regulator of the Securities Market in Colombia (AMV), who carry out negotiations on behalf of their clients for the sale of goods, products, services and in some cases securities. This service is executed under what is called a "commission contract." The companies and their specialists are under the control and oversight of the Financial Superintendency of Colombia and the Self-regulator of the Colombian Mercantile Exchange.
